More About Holly Jeffreys

Holly Jeffreys grew up in Amarillo and built her career in the Texas panhandle. She opened rural clinics in towns that had long gone without local care, created a pharmacy and coffee shop in Bushland, and spent years serving communities and families as a nurse practitioner and entrepreneur.

Her work eventually led her back to West Texas A&M University, where she now serves as dean of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences leading a team of more than 50 faculty of professionals who educate much of the area’s healthcare workforce.

Her influence reaches beyond clinics and campus. State leaders often call on her for insight into healthcare, education, workforce shortages, small business, and the critical needs of rural and urban communities. She has chaired statewide task forces, served on advisory boards, and earned recognition from the U.S. Small Business Administration, which named her the Small Business Person of the Year for the Texas Panhandle and honored her with a flag flown at the Texas Capitol.

Holly’s professional life runs alongside a personal story familiar to many West Texans. She and her husband, Kelly, met at church after he moved to the Texas Panhandle to attend WT. They have been married for 33 years and raised four amazing children who are now grown, married, and raising their own families. The family attends Arden Road Baptist Church, where Holly’s father served as pastor for nearly four decades. Kelly is a rancher and their life reflects the grounding influence of faith, family, and true Panhandle values.
